About the artist:
Agnes was a celebrated artist who first exhibited with the Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS) in 1929 and later became an Honorary Life Member in 1976. She explored various art forms, including bark painting and oriental brush painting, showcasing her versatility and talent.
Agnes reached the remarkable age of 100 in January 2007 and continued to create art, even making her own gift cards. With her passing in 2008, an endowment of funds from her estate was made available to the RQAS to continue the Drawing award, originally named after her husband with her name now added to the prize.
